string life

I guess I screwed up my first post. I'm new to the site and shootin a long bow. My string broke this mourning, where it wraps around the limb. I've shot 1,500+ arrows through my new Bear Patriot. Is this normal? How long do strings usually last? Do I need to file down the end of my limbs? Thanks. Appreciate the advice.

Check the string nock where it broke.  You will probably find a rough spot there that caused the break.  If you do take some fine sandpaper and smoothe it out.  Then a add little thin superglue to seal it.
