Deer season never ends, only harvest dates do. Post season is the best time to scout. If you bump deer now, it's no big deal.
You can find the heaviest travel area's, slip into bedding area's, look for sheds, etc.
This is also a great time to start planning and building natural ground blinds. If you cut pines to use for blind material, they slide nice on snow.
It's also chainsaw/deer habitat improvement season. You can do hinge cuts and create some great bedding area's out of otherwise poor habitat.
And as always, practice shooting and hit the occasional sport show. A great trad bow expo is in Kalamazoo Michigan in late Jan.
