I was on the Martin website the other day and it looks like they have pulled all those beautiful Howett bows they made like the Savannah, Dreamcatcher, Hunter, etc... Anyone know anything about that??

Short answer, yes they're still making them.
Go back to the site and click on the "online store." They still show them there. I've heard they may be seperating the stickbows into another catalog altogether. I hope that's true. I'd also like to see them go back to using the Howatt logo for those bows still being made under the Howatt design. I believe they have the rights to it. Leave the Martin logo to the wheel bows.
I'd like to see others chime in who know more on the subject.

They are coming out with a new Howatt catalog in January, I understand. By the way....Martin never made recurve bows, the Howatt line has been made in Yakima since the 50's. It would be nice to see a better identity to really celebrate Howatt.
Most people don't know or never heard of the man, Damon Howatt; unfortunatly, he was killed in an accident in the late 50's and never got to see the immense popularity of his bows.

They are probably just updating their site for 2010 bows?

Glad to hear the Martin will have a separate catalog for trad bows in January. Last year I had the privilage of sitting at the same table with Larry Hatfield and his wife at the TBW banquet. He shared some of great stories with us, including some about his friends Damon Howatt and Gail Martin.
My family hails from a little town just a few miles from where the Howatt plant is located. I really need to make it a point to get over there and take a tour of the facility, which is something I've never done.
