I had one bow I built do that and in exactly that same place and same way. Every bow since that time has a 1/8 in piece of phenolic across the back and four 1/16 pieces of phenolic in the middle and belly which surround that beauty wave. One time is enough . The bowyer needs to redesign his riser. I will not ever build another all wood riser.

As for the broken bow.

This bow was going to be a christmas present for a good friend of mine.

Talked to the dealer the day before. The bow will be replaced by warranty. So he has to wait for a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile I will hand him one of my other bows and a dozen of arrows.

He is celebrating his fiftieth birthday next year, so he wants to travel USA (He would like to fulfill himself a life dream) and do some bowhunting.
He has been talking about this for years now.

He asked me to come along and I said yes.
So we are planing to visit your country next year.

Wanna wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year.

All the best from europe.

Just want to keep you updated on that broken bow.

New bow just arrived today. It was replaced by the company on warranty.

Made my friend really happy.

Right now I´m tuning the bow and will be handing it to my friend this evening.
He`s gonna have some happy shooting tonight.

Again, thanks to their customer service.

All the best from europe.

My buddys high end bow just disolved. The riser broke into four pieces at full draw. The bowyers making hime a new one. Lack of glue was to blame.

Nice to see that most bowyers still stand behind their work.

Glad to hear your ok. Had a LB blow on me at full draw with/at the bow-bolt. I have a long draw and prob. should have been shooting a longer bow. The bowyer did replace with no questions ask though.

That is pretty scary, and I'm happy there were no injuries. Over the years I've had a limb blow on two different bows that were each approximately two weeks old. Both were take downs, and the first was replaced in short order by the bower. The last one happened this past September, and I'm still waiting. Had to call them on four different occasions, and each time I get a promise they are working on it. This past Sunday was my latest coversation, and they promised to again have new limbs to me by March. This is a quality bow from a well known boyer, and was listed over $1,000. No CNC machines there; so, it takes time.

As you see, most companies nowadays stand behind their products.  And..."any bow can break"...cheap, expensive, and the more bows a company makes the more chance you will see a broken one from time to time.  Anything glued together can come apart, and wood...as mentioned...can have a deficiency in itself, which was the case in this bow.  Good for Samick for taking care of you.....I knew the would, they are very reliable as a whole.

Wow... I am glad no one was hurt.

I've never seen a bow do that.

I once had an expensive longbow break upon drawing it within a week a receiving it.  Quite a startling experience, but the bowyer replaced it with a beautiful osage bow and yew bow that someone ordered and never paid for.

BTW, your videos are awesome.  Indeed, you have many talents.

I would have kept it to myself - contact them and then I would have done the warning with the reply from the bowyer making good on his promise...that's the way I would have handled it.

I think it's good that we all know that this can happen so that part I agree with..just the process and I am not attacking your character.

I have seen some of your videos and it looks like you are a very down to earth person.

Hey you ride bareback like nobody I have seen..still struggling with that a bit myself...gotta learn to relax and move with the horse.
