Home made Soft case for a long bow
« on: December 24, 2009, 09:15:00 AM »
Well I made a soft case for my strung longbow out of a military wool blanket($10.00) all you need is a sewing machine and the ability to get in touch with your feminine side. all you do is lay out the blanket, fold it at the middle lay your strung bow with the string at the fold and mark 3" around the bow ,cut it out and sew all the way from one end to 6" past the center arch. Then you can sew in a zipper or what I did was use small grommet brass holes every 3" on both sides and a piece of leather lace and laced it up.and it helps if you fold 1/2" of the cut in and sew it hold from fraying and don't forget to sew in the handle (which can be made from the scrap wool.)
Next thing you know you will be making curtains for the hunting cabin.Good luck
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don’t have that problem.
