Anything Interesting planed for 2010
« on: December 24, 2009, 10:23:00 PM »
Anyone have any hunts planed or new bows coming in 2010? I'm hoping to draw a SD elk tag and have a Dale Dye coming in March. I'm also looking forward to doing some shed hunting this spring.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and the best of luck in the New Year.

Got a Apex Predator bow blank comeing, should be fun to finish and shoot a Hill style bow. Plan to do more stump shoot'n to get ready for the hunting seasons in the fall. Might be looking into a self guided elk hunt in Colorado also. Going to keep some options open to see what comes up. Worst case I'll have to hunt the Adirondacks........ya just never know what may come up!

I'm a shed hunting fanatic. Word around my neck of the woods is that some have already dropped. Based off what I've learned about my area, I start looking while I'm hunting after Christmas. Last year I found a nice 11 point set on Dec.31 and an 8 point set the following day. Keep your eyes peeled.

Carl, I'm the same as you, I love to shed hunt. I found one today when I was checking my trail camera. I look forward to spring more than fall anymore.

I should have a good chance to draw A tag for Iowa this year. I believe I have enough points.

Met a gentlemen in Florida that offered me permission to hunt his farm.

Also got a farm in Illinois to check out in April.

Headed up to West Point in May for what will be the 2nd annual T-HURT (Turkey HUnting Road trip).

We've been working on getting access to a bow only area that holds a boatload of birds, but was closed last season.

Far as a new bow, I'm sure one will show up at some point.

Going after Javies/hogs in about 6 weeks, turkey hunt for the year is on hold, might go elk hunting but haven't made up my mind yet.  That's it.

I've got a cousin in anchorage who's been wanting me to come up and try some moose and bear. Think I will give it a go this year.
