Simmons Razorshark test should be up this week. Hopefully I'll have a turkey to test one on as well  :)

BTW.......nice to see a kid out playing with his bows and arrows instead of inside with the nintendo/xbox.

Wow. Just got finished testing the Simmons Razorshark. Best performance to date! Penetrated best and left the best hole easily. Keep in mind that I used the same book as last time and it's still soaking wet! Left it outside and it's been raining a lot this week, so I didn't bother to re-soak it. My first shot was broadside. The penetration beat the Snuffer SS by at least 1". I need to break out the tape measure and shoot all the heads again to be sure that I don't misinterpret the results. I was expecting it to come close to the best, but not quite. This is dense material, and that swoop in the blade seems like it would cause the head to loose penetration in such material. Not so. That BH test site I mentioned earlier came up with somewhat similar results, though the Thunderhead won out in penetration slightly. May have something to do with the fact that he was using a larger phone book. Who knows. Anyway, here are the pics.

Broadside exit

Quartering away exit.

Broadside penetration.
This head was razor sharp out of the pack and stayed that way throughout the test. Thanks to skipmaster for letting me have one of his!!! I know what'll fill my quiver this year   ;)

One other thing worthy of note is that these heads are advertized as 125gr. while they're truly about 117gr.

Arrow4Christ,  nice test.  I assume by looking at the hole that the Razorshark was tested using the aux blades?  Also, what are the specs on the bow you used to test the shark?  Great job

Joe,
Yes I used the Auxiliary bleeders on the Razorsharks. They are 7/8" in diameter while the main blade is 1 1/4" in diameter. When I get a chance I'll post a pic of the wounds these things make in animals, not my pics. The bow is a 63#@30" (drawn to 30") 60" Das Dalaa. I use a clicker so the draw length is consistent. I am also shooting off an elevated rest. God bless,
Craig

Thanks for the info and the blessing Craig,  I'd be interested in those pics when you get a chance.  Love my Tiger Sharks but was thinking of trying the Razorsharks for deer this year.

God bless you too,
Joe

Cool! They are my favorite head by far. I have only taken 2 animals but they were both big critters. One was that 600# hog the other was a 250# buck. It did awesome on both. I'll see if i have any pics of the wounds.......

This is the entrance wound on that hog. it was a big hole. Both the entrace and exit hole looked like a hose pouring out blood.

Joe
I've used the RazorSharks quite a bit, but only out of a compound.  They will be my first choice for my trad bow.  They are not designed to be shot without the bleeder blades.  They are extremely tough heads and leave great holes.  If anyone is interested, I can post some links to some pics of a doe I took last fall with one and the damage it did.

OK, here ya go!  Like I said, this was with a compound and it went through the off shoulder ball joint.  First pic is the entry, the second is the exit, the third is the exit skinned, the 4th is the interior of the ball joint, the fifth and sixth are the blade after going through all of that.  (7th pic is a bonus) The coin is a quarter for reference.  Let me know if you have trouble viewing.

Thanks guys.  Sure looks to be a good head.  Have all of you found them to be sharp right out of the package.  I've seen a lot of BH's advertised that way but when I open them up they aren't really all that sharp.

Yes, mine were extremely sharp.  They would pop hair with little or no effort.  I lightly stroped them to polish them up and they were even better.  I think the scimitar shaped blade opens up the wound channel more for some reason.
