"Pulled pork for the JLMBH"....you bet!!!!!!

Glen, I send you the same pic bud, did you not get it?

Dang Thomas, I thought "we was tight"...right under the bus!!
So tell me a bit about this "punishment stand"

.....Sooooo, back to finish up my little adventure with Don......

The whole yankee thing started on the phone before I even got there. Then I walk up to him and he started makin' sniffin' sounds as I get closer.....I knew I was in trouble!

But it was all in super good fun....the little fellas a pretty good dude!       :notworthy:

....so back at camp I'm suddenly all alone to render my hog into managable pieces for my cooler. Don't believe the whole "I threw out my shoulder" bit of Don's either....he hates hogs!

Half way thru I was treated to a phenominal breakfast!  Hog sausage, bacon, some big ol' hunks of steak of some sort, eggs, biscuts, and fresh strawberrys...like I said...PHENOMINAL!!!

Once I finished up the hog, and cleaned up. I had to grab my bow and shoot a few arrows. Last night just wasn't sittin' good with me. I have to make sure....I was "OK"       :archer:

Right from the first shot, everything was just fine...guess it was just a bad shooting session and a bad time to have one! For some reason Don wasn't too quick to grab his bow this time....

But right about the time I was shooting, Karen Campbell started shooting on the other side of camp. It's not everyday a guy gets to shoot with Karen Campbell!

After shooting with Karen for about 40 minutes, we all sat down for a while to relax.....

Then the part that I hate about any trip came...saying goodby.....

Don, As I told you when we went our seperate ways, I can't thank you enough for the great time I had with you and everyone at camp! Southern hositality at it's finest. I sure hope we can do it all again!!!!!!!

Thanks bud.......

Southern hostility at its finest? Naw, you got treated good for a dude what refused grits!

Fine doin's down there, that's for sure. Don does sound like a feller who is easy to spend some time with, and Don, I DO like the way you tell a more believable tale. Some folks tend to prevaricate.

Great hunt and story! Congrats on the hog!  :saywhat:   I've been bitten more times by that "catch em" mentality than I can remember. Glad you guys had so much fun. Wish I'd been there!  :campfire:   CK

Don, thanks for taking good care of our Little Buddy! I appreciate you not challenging his pallet too much on the first trip, but I fully expect you to treat him to some gator tail and turtle stew on the next trip! Florida just ain't Florida if'n you ain't eatin' gator tail!

Don/Marty, I'll be down in August for more gator hunting with the winner of the PBS free gator hunt, maybe we can do some swap hunting?  I have close to 1000 acres of good Indiana whitetail deer ground.

Thanks to both of you for letting us live vicariously as we are sitting here in -2F wind chill!

Curt is apparently very good with photoshop, putting my handsome face onto Biggie's body in a couple of those pics. Thankfully everyone knows I'm a champion body builder. I just interpret the term body building a bit differently than most. Curt, you gotta eat your grits if you want to grow up.

Congratulations on the hog, Curt!

Don't worry about the lousy shooting.  Don D and I always bring out the best in people...  :biglaugh:

I think I read about that old orange grove hot spot of Don's in an old TBM a few year's back.  Good stuff!

Guru- I certainly hope you don't expect to have anybody to shoot with that remotely resembles Karen Campbell this coming weekend? Unless you are into very large men from Georgia. If so- I've got you covered.

What are we gonna do on New Years Eve at midnight?

Hey Curt: I get to shoot with Karen Campbell every day - but the magic never wears down.  :-) Karen and I both had fun meeting you, glad you enjoyed the first leg of the trip. Marty's camp will be an upgrade, I'm sure, to our little place. By the way, my 14 year old Cody and I found that same group of hogs yesterday, and one of the black sows was dry, so Cody ended up putting her in the cooler - New Year's eve dinner! Come back anytime. - Jay Campbell
The how and why of hunting is more important than the what, or the where, or with whom. In hunting - as in life - the joy is in the journey.
