Thanks Terry.
My son and I are pleased to announce a new venture for us, Mule Creek Outfitting. We have just completed the paperwork to purchase the Mule Creek Camp from Trophy Mountain Outfitters in Daniel Wyoming. We will try to have a website up and running within a week or so. We still have some hoops to jump through getting our state outfitting license, guide licenses and transfer of the federal permits. Until those things are done by law we are not allowed to book hunts for our business therefore, we will be the booking agent for this camp. Hunts will be booked with Dustin Child's Trophy Mountain Outfitters.
http://www.trophymountainoutfitters.com/ My son and I will be hosting this camp, hopefully under our own license by the time August rolls around, or under Dustin's permit if there is any unforseen delay in obtaining the necessary permits.
We will be offering elk, antelope, mule deer, mountain lion, black bear and moose hunts. Our camp is at the head of mule creek in the north end of the Wyoming Range, just west of Daniel Junction, Wyoming. I have evaluated hunting camps in several states before deciding on locating our business in this area. I have hunted from The San Juan's in Southern Colorado to the Bush Country in Northern Alberta all states in between. I have not seen anyplace with higher numbers of game, more species or better habitat than the area we have chosen in northwestern Wyoming. Wolf numbers are kept in check in this area so as to not affect ungulate recruitment. This area is on the southern edge of grizzly country but is not overrun with them. An occaisional grizz has been seen but grizzly bear sightings are a rare event. Our area has great elk summering ground on top of the mountain, a couple of winter feed grounds at the base of the mountain and several old clear cuts and burn areas in between. Elk numbers are at all time highs. This area is also famous for huge mule deer and more book animals come from this region than anywhere else. Mule deer buck quality has historically been very good and was even better this year. The previous outfitter has not hunted bears in the past 7 years and the state wildelife biologists tells me that bear numbers are very high in this unit. If you have enough points for moose, inquire. I saw 5 moose on a trip to the camp this past November, they are plentiful. Antelope are hunted on private ranchland and BLM property accessed through private land. Mountain lion hunts are done in the winter when snow is on the ground. We are subcontracting a houndman to run these hunts for us.
Bear and Mountain lion tags are over the counter. Mule Deer, elk, moose, and antelope tags are issued by a drawing and preference points will help in getting tags.
Check the sponsor classifieds for some archery hunts we are going to offer.
