Arrow advice
« on: December 20, 2009, 06:56:00 AM »
I looking for advice on a new arrow combination. Currently, I shoot a 31" Easton 2016 Legacy with 5" shield feathers from a 49@28 longbow ( 125 gr. Montec G5 broadheads ). My draw is 29 1/2.

My bow really likes this setup, but I would like to change to the Woodsman Elite broadhead with a 100 gr. brass insert. As a starting point, I was thinking of moving up to the 2018 XX775 aluminum to support the heavier front of center (FOC) increase.

Is this a good choice or should I start out two sizes up.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Dennis

I think moving to a 2018 with the added front weight makes perfect sense. Your finished arrow will be over 600 grains, which will penetrate well but will be considerably slower than your 2016's.

Thanks, Rob. I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track. Easton does not make arrow charts for archers who shoot 250 grains of broadhead and insert weight, so it's hard to know where to begin for the proper arrow size. Thanks again for your advice.

Thanks, Terry. With arrow related questions, I wasn't sure where to post this one.
