yea that is kinda what I thought too George, dad use to have to get those fat aluminum arrows for his compound, and they were noisy, but then again that bow in general was noisy.  I never have liked aluminum cause they dont break they just bend.  I know that carbons are hollow.  I think the guy that told me that made it up on the spot?  But I definatly agree with your statement, "that it is always nearly a spine/tuning issue, not the material".

I just like aluminum, easy to tune, & no noise I could ever hear. I actually always thought the carbons were louder. Kind of a high pitched whack.  Mike

That is what I have always done, then TJ conrads told me to use bowstring wax on the threads, and that actually works better!
