Osage to make FIREFLYS
« on: December 30, 2009, 02:58:00 PM »
Had a great time cutting osage with Jim Jones today... We found the gold mine of Osage..which is rare in these parts........ Jim says we cut just enough to build a few..lol......These logs will be riser blocks in no time...      Now we're heading out to hunt to top the load with a whitetail....     :D                    :campfire:

Anyone know what bow Jim is holding on the webpage at braveheart? It has red accents by the limb bolts.

Love Osage ! I had a Firefly once and let it slip through my fingers in a moment of haste, biggest mistake I ever made .I can imagine some of the Orange Beautys coming out of Jimmys shop in the near future.Maybe with some trimming of Madagascar Ebony and Red Phonelic, enough to make a fat canadian cry!

Thanks

Hi Dave

Jim offers 2 models of 3 pc longbows.... His original has the recurve style grip and the other is his low wrist version (which he calls the ROUTE 66)

The bow i posted above is the route 66 model...The fireflys are great bows...Jim does not make a 1 pc or a recurve at this time..

I'm guessing... but i think the wood in that bow is bacote with bloodwood overlays... i could be wrong..hopefully Jim will chime in when he sees this post....

Dave
I have one just like the one Jim is holding but I don't think it is the exact same one, mine is newer and has different grain on the limb overlays.

Here is a thread of mine, I posted pics of it recently.  I has the bloodwood accents on the limbs.
