John, Yes indeed Fred was right handed and did cut part of a finger off and switched to left handed bow shooting. Can't say exactly which finger was involved in the accident but it must not have impacted his gun shooting to the extent it did his bow shooting.
My understanding is that he did indeed suffer from target panic but that isn't why he switched. As you watch Fred shoot there is no hesitation at full draw...when that arrow gets back it is gone. He felt this helped with his target panic.
I too have the 4 DVD set and agree completely it is a must have. I have it playing in my shop anytime I am out there. Lots of cool info.
