working with snakeskin

I want to use snakeskin to make some applications to leather quivers.

Do I need tanned skin or can I use dried skins?

Du you use tanned skin just like any other leather?

How can you work with dried skins.
Can you sew them onto leather or will they break or get brittle with time?

It would be nice if you could give me some information about this.

So I guess, glueing is ok but if you sew it it will break?

Am I right, that you have to seal the skin with laquer or super glue to keep it from rotting...?

Sorry if my questions sound somehow dumb...
I just have no idea and want to understand what I´m gonna be doing and why I´m going to do it a certain way.

When I used snakeskins on a quiver I used a tanned one and used barge cement to glue it on.I use dried ones for putting on the back of bows.

I've never sewed them alone but have laminated them to thin leather then sewed the leather.  I've never used the entire skin, just pieces left over from backing a bow.
