Ok. Once I lightened it up I could see a big deer like eye just below that white twig but then below it towards the center of the pic, in that big black section, I see what looks like feathers. So I am going with Hippogrif.

Now we know how these critters survive. This is a hen turkey stiting on her nest. There is all these threads about camoflage I think that she has it figured out. I took several pictures of this and took a look everyday as i waked by. This is a picture of the nest while she was off feeding one day.

Your thread and picture took me back in time.

I remember back when I was playing cowboy at the Whitegrass ranch in Moose, Wyoming and I was riding along a trail near Elkhorn lake when I spotted a large group of elk bedded down by the waters edge so I got out my camera and took a boat load of pictures.
When I returned to college that fall I took that roll of film in to be processed. When I got the pictures back it took me "like-forever" to find any of those elk in my photos and I knew exactly where to look.
Good memories!!
Thanks!
God bless,Mudd

I have so many pictures of deer and elk like that Mudd. It is crazy how they can vanish even in a picture. I just thought that this hen turkey was so amazing. I watched her walk in there and lay down looked down to get into my pack for the cammera and when I looked back up it was very hard to see her.

Hmmm, Bigfoot. Yup, I'm sure of it, Bigfoot.   :)

But serious, looks like a little fawn curled up looking at the camera to me.

Cool picture. Now I have to go back and look again. My 9 year old walked right up this morning while I was looking at it and said. It's a turkey Dad, right there is it's eye and here's its body.

It still looked like a stick to me at that point LOL

I was gonna say Tiger Woods but after further inspection, it looks like a turkey hen sitting on some eggs...

Am I the only one who sees a moose nostril?

Guess I stared at too many clouds as a kid....
