I hunt rawdeer(a small deer (18-25 kg) birds, hare, rabbit.
Small game.
They are hoping that we can hunt larger animals if they change the law.
The problem is that most people doesent know how accurate and deadly a good hit is, and that the best bowhunter are the one that gets himself closest to the animal.
That`s my opinion.

Inge, I hope your elk hunt goes well.  I helped a bowhunter from Finland recently (who goes by Rambler here on Tradgang) on a GA hog hunt.  I was amazed and impressed that he would travel so far just to bowhunt hogs and squirrels, especially alone in a new environment, and he was amazed at the bowhunting opportunities here in America.  Maybe we don't realize how fortunate/blessed we really are.

I'll bet that you will get lots of advice and help from the Tradgang folks.  You will have to promise to tell you story (with photos) after the hunt!

Hello Inge, and welcome.  I had the privilege of visiting your country about a year ago and tracing my heritage back to about 1650.  It does seem a shame that a country that gave us Vikings won't allow bow hunting.  I'm pretty sure the Vikings hunted with bows!!!!  I did buy a couple of repro Viking arrow points in Bergen that I made into special, display only, arrows.  I did have to pack them in my checked baggage however, so that I wouldn't be tempted to hi-jack the airplane with them!  I wish you nothing but happiness and success in your hunt in the U.S. as well as anywhere else you may go.

God morgen enn velkommen til TradGang. Jeg snakker bare litt norsk.

My wife is second generation American and all her family is from Norway... mainly the Fagernes area. I love seeing folks here from other countries.  It is great to see bowhunting in other parts of the world!!
