Just ordered a Mohawk longbow with red ceder veneers. Does anyone have pics of the red ceder in their bows??? Is red ceder and mountain juniper the same thing??

Here is a couple. I like the knots, but don't want to use the real knotty stuff in my "curvey" Ossabaw design. Even without the knots, it's very pretty stuff.

nice Bow Apex. As far as Western Juniper and Red Cedar being the same, I dont think they are.

I think this bow was western red cedar? it didn't have any character to it but was still nice looking and had really good cast. Apex's cedar bows have plenty of great character! There's some 80 year old cedars over at my grandmothers place...after every hurricane I have to go by and pick up limbs out of the driveway.

Western juniper and cedar are in the same family. they smell the same when cut, but the rocky mountain juniper seems to have a tighter grain and the colors repeat themselves in a smaller area.
