Silly ? how many arrows for 3D shoot?

I take a doz to the shoot. Put 5 in the quiver and leave the rest in the car.

I have taken to carrying six, and most of the time will only need one or two. (Yep I do miss)

I have seen some come in at the halfway mark and get out the plastic money and stop at the arrow vendor who gladly sells another 1/2 doz, for the rest of the course.

I carry enough in the truck to have a matching set for each bow. arrrrrrrrrhg.

I take a dozen for the trip, and carry 6 around with me.  Normally break or bend one or two on metal targets or a bad shot that hits a rock.

Metal Targets???---carry a couple of old not so good arrows to spend on those targets.
Flying Targets???--may need a flu-flu or 2 depending on shoot.
Generally we shoot 2 arrows at each target so carrying 6 arrows plus a few of above if needed. Some shoots really eat up arrows, so I always have backups in the truck. 3-D's are a blast to do year round to keep you in tune.

I carry a whole bunch.  That way, after I've lost or broken a few, my quiver still looks full and I look like I'm a good shot

3D shoots are why they made back quivers!  They way I shoot her in rocky RI it's a dozen minimum!

Jeff only needs 4 arrows..I've lost 13!!!arrows on one 3d shoot before...its your first 3d shoot?? I'd bring a dozen..but remember..one shot at a time and you already know you can hit  it...

Thanks again folks! I'll take an even dozen with me and fill up my quiver. If I lose a dozen I need to go back to the house.    

 I've shot on this range before on thier field coarse on an informal night this past summer. Its a pretty decent range as far as arrow recoverability( that a word?) I've just never shot a 3D course before.

Thinking now that hunting season is over I will give it a try and see how I like it. Sure couldn't hurt my shooting to spend some time shooting with other folks with some more experience.
Greg/Bowana I will try and make the TBOF shoot for sure. May come up and shoot saturday and paddle the Ocklawaha or Juniper sunday or monday.

A quiver full does me.Usually 5-6 arrows.

On a side note,I say leave the score cards alone.I think it's more fun to go with a group and just shoot and have fun than get wrapped up in scores.Not saying anything bad about scores at all,sometimes I like to know what I shoot.

The most fun I had on a 3D shoot was the last one of the year last year.Me and Vermonster were the only trad guys there.The other boys had gone to a different shoot,plus it was in the morning,looking like rain,and no many others were there.We walked the course and shot as much as we wanted at all the targets and got our money's worth instead of just one arrow.Man that was great!

I have found I'll shoot better if I carry only one. It's worked out so far but I bet there'll come a day...lol

I usually have six in my plains style quiver, and another 6 in camp. Most I've ever lost or broken during a single round is three. Remember, some shoots are tough on arrows, others are not. The more undergrowth, rocks, lakes, elevation changes, moving targets, etc. the greater the opportunity to lose arrows one way or another. Course some folks think that is what makes 3-d shoots fun. Enjoy.

Take as many as you can,and if they ask why you have so many tell them you have a bad habit of splitting them(like robin hood)and look at them with one eye closed.

I went to one of Big Jim's shoots,it was a riot lost about a dozen arrows,but had a lot of fun trying impossible shots the good thing was I could just buy more from him.
