Setup Concerns?
« on: January 14, 2010, 04:31:00 PM »
Guys, There have been a lot of threads about this lately, and just wanted some input on what will probably be my new setup for a new to me bow.

Bow is 68" Robertson Mystical, approximately 52# at my 27" draw length.

Arrow is Easton Epic 500 cut to 29", with 200 grains up front, for total arrow weight of 465 grains with wraps and feathers.  This gives just over 9 GPP.  FOC is approximately 21%.  They fly like darts after bareshafting.

Broadheads will be either Magnus I or a Big Snuffer(ala Guru).

I hunt whitetails, turkeys, and hopefully this year hogs. I believe that as long as I do my job, this setup will have no issues.  Would anybody have any concerns using this setup?  Mark

Nope not one concern...Love me some Robertson.  I have a 66" Mystical 67#@28".  This is my go-to bow.  I shoot about the same GPP out of it, but the arrow weight is a little more due to draw weight.  I never have any trouble with shooting whitetails, always got 2 holes...

That will kill anything you are going to hunt in the lower 48.  Widow

Thanks for the replies guys.  I figured it was good enough, but always looking elsewhere for more wisdom.  Mark
