« on: January 16, 2010, 09:25:00 AM »
Was wondering what everyone's bow arrow and broadhead setup were going to be for the 2010 spring turkey season? I will be totting my Bear Kodiak Magnum 55lb @28 Easton 2016 Gamegetters and 125gr Magnus head. Please post specs and previous kills with your setup, im getting cabin fever! I'm ready to climb in to my blind and make some calls.

Morrison Shawnee with Arapaho limbs, 60", 60# @ 29", Goldtips with 160 Snuffer on the end.

This particular bow is pretty basic... Boo limbs and dymondwood riser...  I'm thinking really hard about sending it to Bob and getting it dipped in Predator Green Deception and have 1/2 pinecones added to the grip.  I don't use the bow exept for Turkeys in the spring or if it is pretty foul weather.  Shoots right with my other Shawnees but isn't as pretty so I don't feel so bad exposing it to  these conditions.  And it doesn't have snake skins on the back which will foul up a turkey hunt in a heartbeat.  Them birds really don't like snakes and they pick them out right quick, even if you are not moving!

This will be my first year hunting turkeys with archery equipment.  My set up is a 58" Whisperstik Voodoo 45#@28" that I'm gonna get dipped in Predator green deception, and I'll either be using 2016's or cedars.  I haven't decided on a head yet but I'm thinking something with a big cut 1 1/2" or so.  Any of you guys use those heads with the 4 big blades called the guillotine?  I would rather use a fixed blade and shoot for the vitals but if I were skilled enough to make head shots they look like they'd be pretty good.
Chasing my kids and my degree for now but come next fall the critters better look out.  ;)

My set up is simple a shopping cart and a super market...LOL   :biglaugh:
I see turkeys all year(especially when deer hunting) and when I buy all those permits(it's ridiculous in NJ) they all seem to vanish.
