I kinda like Biggie's idea!!!

Don't know what bow I'll have but I hope I can actually hit them this spring.

Maybe one of my bows will call my name when it's up for the test!

If Dick Robertson gets it to me on time, I am sure he will, a 62" myrtle handle and myrtle lams over bamboo longbow 51 or so pounds at 26", Wapiti tapered shafts holding tan Bear Razorheads with the bleeder blades, my butt pad, one jake decoy, a pocketful of apples and another pocket full of various turkey calls.   Oh yes and cotton camo with a nice coating permethrin. Gotta be careful not to ingest the stuff and keep it off my apples it's poison.

James, did you have difficulty recovering the bird? Is that why your going with the String Tracker? BTW very nice bird!
Yes I did, it walked away then flew off, it ended up landing in skunk cabbage totally hidden from view i had shot it first thing in the morning and found it at noon. If I had just given up it would have been a wasted bird, this season I'm going to follow a string    I would say the best spot to hit a gobbler is about the size of a fist unless you hit them in the head, they are plenty tough.

The lazy do not roast any game,
but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

My black 56" 58# Kempf Kwyk Styk has been perfect turkey medicine the last couple years. Carbon arrows and 160 Snuffers on steel adapters.....

But this Bob Lee Dark Archer, that was sent to me last spring, worked just fine as well....54", 58#...same arrows....

I use what ever old broadheads I'm not using for deer hunting. I like three blades the best.

Great birds Curt! Do you have pretty good success with the strutting decoy? I tried a tom decoy last year, had a bird come running in only to spot the decoy and take off. I'm assuming because he wasnt the dominant bird in the area.

That strutting decoy was the demise of all those birds except the last one...him and his buddy came running to a regular jake/hen decoy set-up.

The strutter worked awesome! Especially the first half of our season...

Guru, I guess that is where you had the decoy set up also, meaning that close to the blind right?

Planning on using my 56" Widow PSR, I know it well and it works great in the blind.  I've got a 58" Kanati on order, so that will likely get some blind time as well.  Either way, a Snuffer will be on the arrows.

No, They're just there for the pix.  I have them out in front of me , with the strutter/or jake decoy exactly where I want to shoot. Because that's right where they go...straight to the rival!

I set him about 8 paces out....

zipper sxt longbow, scored it's first boss gobbler last spring, when she was only a couple weeks old.  47 at my 29" draw/ 60". I will add that my yukon tracks blind is just as important to me, it is so big, I'm thinking of taking a cot with me this year for those looonnnggg sits.
