pockets, and particularly no change or nosiy things in them if you have them.  In the Army noise could get you killed, in hunting it can keep you from making a kill.

Everything is either on my belt or in my pack, everything is checker for making noise and padded, taped, or tightened until no noise occurs during normal hunting movement.

I do keep some emergency supplies in front pockets.  Fire starter, matches, small pen knife and some 550 cord, but that is it.

I love pockets and hate tight pants. I also like packs.

For those packs with metal zipper tabs, some shrink wrap works great to make them quieter without having the sticky issues of tape.

Hmmmmmm......at this very moment:
In my left pocket=keys-work, home, car, LED pinch light, magnesium fire stater. Micro Maglight (1AAA cell). 2 BIC's. Fingernail clippers. Eye drops. Lip balm. 93 cents worth of change.

In my right pocket= Buck 3 blade folder. Benchmade 4" FKC. Another BIC.

In my wallet is a little fishing/snaring/firestarting emergency kit I put together.

Do I REALLY want more pocket? Don't think I'd be able to walk!   :help:

But it could be handy for the stuff ya want accessible easily.

I think Captain Kangaroo warped me about pockets.   :biglaugh:

I need pockets when I am still hunting for a face mask, gloves, cow call, wind checker, flash light.Few staff that you need on and off and you can't store in the backpack when a game is fast approacing.I don't like baggy pant but they must be enough confortable to move around and give you plenty of room for free movements.

Cargo's!!!

It's been like a system for me for so long now....

Right cargo is my wind checker puff bottle, my right hand glove, and my pull-up rope....

Left cargo...my shooting glove, left hand glove(three fingers cut off), and my grunt call...

That's where that stuff starts every hunt, and where it goes back when I'm done.  Been like that for 20+yrs.....no matter what pants I'm wearing, that's where it goes...all my pants have cargo's. Weather it be 90 degrees or 0 degrees.....

never have think twice about where that stuff is....

I love pockets! I don't overdo loading them up but they're a fine place for lighter stuff that I need more frequently.

Gotta have pockets!
I am pretty much a creature of habit, like Curt only reverse the order for right hand. Right Cargo, shooting glove, right hand glove, wind checker, compact binos (can't stand them around my neck), Left Pocket, arm guard, left glove, camo bandanna. Most of my hunting is done from a camp, when I lay my clothes out for the next day everything is in the proper pocket, so I don't spend time in the morning looking for stuff.

Looks like pockets is by far the more popular. That explains why most hunting pants are offered with lots of them.

I don't like too baggy, but I love cargo style pants.  The more pockets that I have, the more I can seoerate things I carry so that they don't make contact and rattle.  I'm very regemental in where I carry things, almost anal I guess you could say, but I never have to think about where I put something.  I just know because it never changes.

That's why I love the old Fred Bear camo coat so much.  It has two large slash pockets so big you can hide a Volkswagon in them.  You enter them on each side of the zipper and they are so deep it's hard to reach bottom.

Pocket man here. A must when hanging or taking down  my stands. Easy and convenient. Rather have them and not need them as to need them and not have them.

Pockets are great. Don't put alot of weight in them, but for quick item they work for me. Corgo pants just fit me better I am flexable and don't like being confined.

I use my cargo pocket on the left leg as a bow rest, works really well. I can hold my bow steady until the shot and pull it out of the pocket real quiet. I love the side cargo pocket on my hunting pants.  :archer:
