New RER Bow - Introducing the "Retro"
« on: January 19, 2010, 11:26:00 AM »
RER bowyer Kevin TerMaat has been very busy lately getting this bow ready for full production.  It is basically a one piece version of the extremely popular XR takedown, and is one fine shooting, light in the hand, and great looking bow.  It is currently available in 54", 58", 62", and 64" models.

Here are some pictures of the Retro.  Left to right:
54", 42#, Chechen & Ash with Waterfall Ash veneers
58", 48#,Curly Maple with Bubinga Double Flare and Bubinga veneers
64", 40#,Verawood with Myrtle Burl veneers

I think he's got a winner here!

Food looking bows.  If they shoot as good as the take downs, he will have a winner for sure.

The one on the far right is very reminiscent of the Herter's CV-17 from the late 50's.  Nice looking bows that should create some excitement.

They sure are beautiful...
it was great to finally meet you Joe. I had fun this weekend at Kevin & Sue's...looking forward to the banquet!

Thus the name "Retro" George - they are designed as a 50's style recurve.  The long working limb on that 64" bow makes the draw smooth as silk!

All of the lengths can of course be ordered with any style grip from low to high wrist.

I was wondering the same thing!  Joe you had a bow at Denton that had Verawood in the riser and I really liked it.

Do you have some limb pics...or are they on the website?

Nice looking bows!

Kip, Verawood is from the same family as, but a different genus than, lignum vitae.  It is South American wood from Colombia and Venezuela.

Josh, I don't have pictures of those specific limbs, but there are pictures of each type of veneer on the RER website here:
