Almost all the ones that I would recommend have already been mentioned. I have owned all the below, and plan on keeping at least one of each in my stable.

Crow Creek Blackfeather

Hummingbird

Dakota

Firefly

Zipper SXT

Stewart Slammer

Not necessarily in that order, but I too, like a riser that feels like I have something in my hand and has a locator type grip. All of these are fantastic bows, as are the bowyers that build them.

You might really like a Habu Death Adder, but finding one used could be difficult. I know there is one for sale at Raptor archery though.

I have owned a ACS and i loved that bow but sold it so i could order there 16in riser.

I just recieved my 3 piece Bear Paws bow by Neil Jacobson and he makes one heck of a bow.

I sent him my hand imprint and he custom made the handle to fit my hand and i love it.

Striker, Rick makes them with a  thumb rest and they are very nice bows. He does recurve limbs also.

Just my 2 cents
