Best small game heads?

I shoot aluminum so I need a screw in, 125grn. I recently got laid off from my job so I have extra time on my hands. Thought I would take advantage and get in the woods. Any suggestions? Thank's, Jason

That depends on what small game you're pursuing. Up to squirrels and rabbits, Hex Heads are hard to beat. For larger animals, I'd suggest broadheads.

I use same G-5 small game heads I use with my compounds. But I screw them into a 25 gr booster.

Mate , these SGB's (small game blunts) from Outback are what i have been using for the last 12 months, they are nice and quiet unlike some others and are easily repairable if you mangle the pins.

Jason, first Hi, and sorry to hear about the job loss, brother!

Take some 125 gr. field pts. or blunts and cut with hacksaw down the middle, best you can do to eyeball and use some scrap banding or heck even an ole hacksaw blade. Cut some triangle pieces and epoxy or superglue , in the slots. Then take a file to the leading edge!

 As for the coons and possums, broadheads are the better choice!

This time of year, early in the morning, I love to look for the coons on the ground! It's the breeding period, and you can catch them heading back to the dens, or more.

Also for you Hoosiers, rabbit season was extended to the 15th of Feb. I'm not sure why, in my part of the state, they are pretty much non existent, do to Hawks,yotes, feral cats and loss of habitat.

I usually shoot judos but them squirrels are hard to kill with a judo. Wasnt there a sponser on here that started making small game heads? I don't remember where I seen them but they looked purdy wicked! Jason

I've shot judos, but the get stuck in trees easily.  

Hex heads are great, but they don't do well for me on squirrels unless I smoke them in the head.  I've had them mash, but not penetrate squirrels a couple times out of my 60lbs bows. (ya ya make a head shot I know lol)

The plain old steel blunts from 3Rivers work pretty good for me and for some reason I've had them penetrate squirrels and chipmunks and take them down pretty well that way as the arrow always stays in them.

Another head I'm really liking is the Talon by Red Feather Archery.  It shoots very well even at compound speeds, the concave tip helps it stay above junk most times, and the edges you can keep sharp like a broadhead so it works well in many facets.

I've shot the G5 SGH, but have broken them.  However, they are sharp and mangle well.

I haven't tried the Muzzy SG-X yet, but I will!

I've used Judo's, Hex blunts, and about everything else there is out there. But lately, because it's what I had that was the same weight as my bh's.....I've been using just a plain old blunt...They've done pretty well for me this fall/winter so far.....
