ts1 string how many strands ?

How many strands of ts1 should a guy use on a 50# bow. Is there a rule for strands per #.

I make mine with 12 strands of TS1+ and pad the loops with 6 more strands. 3 River sells there TS1+ strings with 18 strands. I have tried 9str,12str,15str, & 18str.  I like the 12 str padded the best....

I have been using 8 strands TS1 endless loop string on a 65 pound bow.  Padded loops of course.  I have tried 6, which is pretty skinny and made me a bit nervous.  I know the 6 string will hold up but I feel better with 8 strands.  I think you can probably use as many or as few as you want if you want to experiment.

Fellows, if your fans of TS1, Brownell is no longer going to manufacture after the end of year.

Per there web site!

Wish they would have said why.  They also said no more D-75.  Oh well...I use BCY anyway.  Bought a spool of TS Plus to tinker with, never took the wrapper off.

I heard that Brownell is coming out with a new string msterial called Astro flight. Has anyone tried this new string or know more about it?

Chad I was told, they were getting to many types, and believe the Astro will be the best to cover all aspects, stretch, creep, longevity, soft and quiet shot.

JRY, I have some coming, and will be making up some in flemish, and endless to try.

I buy from both manufactures, and have since BCY started. Have an original spool of Streamline and 450. I really like 45o+ and Fast Flight+

I've been using 10 strands on my 60# DAS for about 5 years and have had no problems. My strings are flemish but I would pad them if I were to go with an endless string. My wife shoots 45# and I make her strings with 10 strands, as well.

I think it's Brownell's answer to BCY's Dynaflight 10...or vice-versa.

From what research I've done so far, neither is going to do much if anything more than Formula 8125.
