Yup, the one xtrema shot was my 62". I shoot the 62" MOAB better than the 60". I've had a 60" and sold it. I will never sell my 62".

There was a very pretty 62" III down at Bob's Gun and Tackle in Hastings that I shot a few months back. It also was very nice, but no MOAB in my opinion.

If anyone ever wants a new Thunderstick quickly, Bob's usually has 10 or so new ones in stock.

I've owned a couple Thunderstick Mag's, a couple III's and a couple MOAB's.
Of all those, I shoot the 62" MOAB best.
I also agree that the 66" III is one heck of a bow too.

I've gone back and forth between split and 3 under, settling on 3 under and the 62" MOAB, with the right string and hush puppies is "wow" quiet with 3 under.

I've had a few, two 58" MOAB's and still have one of them.  Also have had a MAG that was 60", also a nice bow but I like the MOAB better...  I've also got a 60" MOAB on order with Jim.  The onw 58" I have is 60# @ 29" with an osage riser with Tamo Ash veneers, awesome bow and shoots where I look with authority!  The 60" I have on order is 70# @ 29" with an osage riser with bocote flare and cherry stained curly anigre veneers and moose tips... can't wait to meet her!

You've made a great choice, and Jim is one of the best in both skill and character!

That sounds like a nice looking bow.  Be sure to post up pic's of that one.  I can't disagree about Jim at all. He has been real helpful with info on my used TS bows.

I used the link to Bob's but wasn't able to locate any traditional bows of any kind on his site. Help!
Thanks in advance!

PS Once I figure out what time zone they're in maybe I'll just give them a call.

They are in Michigan.  I grew up about 6 miles from there so know it well.  I spent most of my money there when I was a kid.  It was mostly a gun store, but they have grown over the years and now all kinds of stuff.  The trad bow section is small, but better than any other non trad bow shops or outdoor stores.  They wouldn't list the trad bows on the web site I wouldn't think.  I was in there a few weeks ago and they had a couple TS bows.  I want to say a mag or two, a TS3 and one MOAB if I recall correctly.  You can call for inventory and spec’s.  I have tried to shoo the MOAB a couple times, but can never wait until they sell another cross bow to get any help in the archery department.  You can PM Arwin, and see if he would go take a look to see what he thinks of the ones in stock.  He lives in Hastings.

I think there's 2 guys there that shoot trad bows. Scott is one guys name, if I recall. If you call Bob's, ask for somebody that knows trad bows.

It is mostly a gun/compound shop, but it's the only place you'll find new TS's on the rack, that I know of.

Another place to call in Michigan is Traditional Outdoor Supply.
 http://www.traditionaloutdoorsupply.com/

They have a used boo Thunderstick III, 55lb 66" RH there for like $350 I believe, if anyone is looking for one. I was just in there the other day.

Well there you go. They sometimes have used TS's there too. You may want to ask if a used price interests you.
But I admit, at least for myself, a new bow has it's attraction.
A new bow has the mojo you give it. LOL
That said, my 62" MOAB was bought used here.

Both deer I killed this year was with my MOAB.
I just shot in the basement for a while with my Toelke whip, Whisperstik mojostik and voodoostik and MOAB. The MOAB is equal to all of them. And that's great company.

I love the picture, thanks Seabound!

Gerardo what is your bows' weight&length and how much have you been shooting it? Is this something new or has it happened with other bows before?

I finally got to see and shoot one today. As stated earlier, a TradGanger sent his to me to try. I did not know him or him me, but true to form there are still GOOD folks out there. Most of them are traditional shooters.

Shot the bow with various arrows and it shot great. Looks good too!Going to shoot some more tomorrow with a dacron string I built today.

Longbowben, is that to the throat?

Jmgcurve Are you just having a fling or is MOAB fever still hot?

The one I shot kept me going back again and again. Every time someone else put it down, I looked around to be sure I wasn't keeping someone else who might have been wanting to shoot it from having their way with it. But I made sure I was free to shoot it when it was free to be shot.

I just couldn't get enough of it. Please don't tell me it was just that particular bow?

Hey brother, I understand what you mean. Are you a typical longbow shooter? What I mean is, I shoot a takedown recurve as my go to bow. I feel that my one piece MOAB longbow gives me a little more shock to the elbow than my recurve. I have had elbow issues in the past but it seems the recurve is a little "softer" so to speak on my elbow. This is my opinion anyway. I still love shooting it(MOAB), just cant overdue it. In my case I feel it's just not being used to a one piece longbow.

I shoot around 7 1/2" brace from the throat myself.

Thanks Mike,

yes I think I need to increase the brace height, I shot it at 7 and a little lower,  that is the brace height that they usually recommend but at 7 1/2 I think it will be better, got a javi this week I will post pics soon for motivation
