New Lost Creek (pics)
« on: January 23, 2010, 05:45:00 PM »
I went to the post office and picked up my new Lost Creek today. Chad built me a looker! It's smooth, quiet and quick. I've shot it all day and am so sore, I'll be stiff in the morning.
It's 48# at my 27 inch draw. I shot it through the chrony today and it shot 172 fps with 520 grain douglas fir shafts and 180 with 483 grain carbons.
Like all of Chads bows, it's not spine sensitive and I shot 3 different spine woods and 2 different carbons. It shot whatever I put through it.
I ended up with an 8 inch brace on it but honestly couldn't tell any difference between 7 1/2 and 8 inches. It's quiet anywhere in there and has no handshock at all.
I just had to post some pictures of this baby.

Sweet....

And I second the veneers look. What are they?

Thanks guys. The veneers are Tamo Ash. Chad put a nice finish on it. The grain in the ash is beautiful. It looks almost like 3D. It has depth to it.
I wanted something nice and I asked Chad what he would use as veneers if he was building his own bow. He said he would use the tamo and that was good enough for me. I'm very happy with the bow, both in looks and performance.
The pictures don't do it justice. It's a baby doll!

Hey coaster,
It's 60". The 56" I got from you now lives with my brother. He shot it one day and snotted and bawled until I let him have it. That Lost Creek fits him like a glove. He's deadly with it!
If I remember right, you like Chads longer bows dont you?
 Have a good one.

Brad, this is a indoor photo of your bow, I almost cut the bow left handed and kept it for myself. I wanted to keep it for decoration and just get it down off the wall and look at it on slow days, I guess I'm just easily gratified with simple beauty. Please, enjoy the bow as much as I did building it for you, I hope that it performs well for you for a long time to come. Keep in touch. Chad
