new arrival Down Under - WOW
« on: April 17, 2007, 09:27:00 AM »
I haven't been able to post on here very much of late - shifted to a new State, job etc and have been unable to fling any arrows for quite a while (unfortunately).

I ordered a Toelke Whip from Dan about two months ago and have been so busy I hardly thought about it - well it just arrived today.  I know I will get slaughtered for not posting any pics, but I have just got in from work and it's dark and I probably can't shoot the bow for a few days yet, or take any pics - but I will do ASAP.

I am blown away by the quality of my new bow.  Dan is a master-craftsman, and just in finish, feel and quality it blows all my other bows out of the water.  Thanks Dan - you are a winner!!!

I can't wait to shoot it on the weekend - I will keep you all posted and have some pics then.  Oh yea - she is Cocobolo riser with bamboo cores and limbs - 64", 41# @ 28.  It will be just the medicine for those big Aussie critters!#$%^&%$^&$!!

The only problem is it looks gorgeous - a real work of art like a beautiful musical instrument -one almost feels like not wanting to risk getting it blemished!!

Cheers - Sutto
One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action .... is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum, in which men steal through existence, like sluggish waters through a marsh, without either honor or observation

you are in for a real treat when you start putting arrows through her mate!
i traded for a whip recently here and it is one heck of a bow.plenty quick - but what gets me is the lack of sound and handshock. i will have to get a custom off dan one day - he gave me plenty of help and advice even though i'm not a customer of his - yet....
