You have no idea how freaked out I was, when I found out that I had waxed my bow with a wax containing solvents, which ruined the finish and gave the limbs some brown spots. My main concern was the fiberglass - I was afraid what the solvents could do.

I cleaned it off, sanded it and refinished it. As it was the first time I finished a bow, it looked sloppy. I was pretty angry. Sanded and finished a couple of times, and now it looks great. It still has some brownish spots, but that just acts as camo now. I'm a perfectionist too, but I've learned that in time you'll accept it as it is. After all, it still shoots!
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

This was a very funny read for me at 4:45am. I am sure your bow is fine. Unless you went nuttso with the sandpaper and your Madd sanding skills. Soon it will become a small blemish on a seasoned warrior.I am sure nobody on the Gang will remember what you did.(well, maybe they will). Don't sweat it.
As for Don's avatar. I don't know what that is but his profile said he is an "object maker"(with too much time on his hands)(I added the last part).

It's not the end of the world.
Mate I had one of my Widows re-finished by Blackwidow after falling down a rock fall, got it back like new.
Several weeks later I arrived at my hunting location in Cape york strung my bow and left it on my swag for about half an hour, returned and drew the bow.
The string poped off and the bow took of out of my hand and into the concrete all banged up again!
Just as well I took 2 bows!

Like you it was my own fault but it happens nothing a little TLC by the right people can't fix.
Keep smiling
Cheers Mate

Piggy, whats a swag?
INT, I should have mentioned that I have mud, blood and lots of scratches on most of my past hunting bows. It's OK!

It's a BOW-just shoot it! Seriously, if it bothers you that much you can send it to bowdoc but I'd just shrug it off and appreciate it as a fine bow. Don't get me wrong, I hate it at first when I do stuff like that but I always do something at some point that'll cause a scratch. I'll always use my bow to block a flying branch for example-I figure it's my face that's too pretty and needs to be protected!   :D

Why not check with Martin for direction? I shoot a number of Toelke bows and the 1st time I had a tip scratched to where it was noticeable I called Dan and he had me use 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper and a Krylon product and in 10-15 minutes it was literally like brand new, impossible to find the repair area.

I'd like to thank everyone for the encouraging words and the fixin up ideas. I'm slowly getting over it. I think maybe a slow walk in the woods this weekend will help to. It's my first bow over 200$ so I'm gonna be a little over protective for a while. Thanks again all, I really appreciate it!  :campfire:    :archer:

Bows aren't supposed to have scratches and nicks on them?  Funky - who knew?

I think I dinged my HH about a week after I got it.  Seems to shoot just fine in spite of that.

I've got  a Fedora excellerator I'm thinking of doing the same thing to. I actually talked to Fedora to find out what to use first, I can't believe I actually did that because usually I just try something first and then I really screw it up-lol. If I wasn't going to sell it I wouldn't care and if you really like the Savannah(I shot one and loved it)and plan on keeping it then I wouldn't worry about it if it's a hunting bow.- Steve
