Ist Turkey with a Bow
« on: April 17, 2007, 03:21:00 PM »
I shot my first turkey with a bow yesterday evening.  Here in Iowa we can hunt all day, so I got off work early at 2 pm and headed out.  Got set up about 3pm and shot the turkey later that evening.  In the picture is my daughter Brier and myself with the bird.  The shot was 7 yards from a DB matrix blind and shot him with my Adcock ACS CX 49#@28" and woodsman head.  He weighed in at 22 pounds and had 1 1/8" spurs.  It was a real thrill and I was very excited!

Chris,

Outstanding! I see Brier and the bow but am not quite sure which one is you and which is the turkey. LOL.

Man just when I was going hunting with my new takedown I find out you have to have an Adcock bow to kill turkeys! Guess I'll wait till I hit the lottery and can get on the waiting list! Seriously, that is too cool. Congrats.
