Moose's, let's see'em
« on: January 28, 2010, 08:41:00 PM »
I just read the Wapiti thread. I'd love to go for elk. But, it didn't work out for this year so, I'm going for moose in Oct. Show me what I want to see.   :bigsmyl:

I took this one on a solo hunt in Alaska. Moose are on my mind. I used a 65# Wes Wallace and Woodsman head. My total arrow weight was 730 gr. Good luck. Mike

Canada moose from Ontario, 2006. Homemade recurve, 499-grain carbon arrow, Ace Standard broadhead. Double lung complete passthrough. I would love to hunt moose again some day.

If I don't get to hunt but one more animal before I die I want it to be a moose.  However that will have to wait a few years most likely as I am in prevet school now and then another 4 years of vet school.  Keep the pics coming, at least I can dream!

This is going WAY back in time.  Still shot a recurve.  Alaska peninsula, circa 1985.

So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.

I too love moose.  I killed this Canadian bull in NH in 2003....

Last fall I shot a small Shiras bull moose with my recurve in Wyoming, then went elk hunting.  Of course this guy then felt safe in walking right up to me and posing....

Can't wait for my next moose hunt!

It's been a while now! I shot this one in Alaska in 2002!  75# 3-piece takedown TimberHawk recurve, 2219 arrow, with 125 gr Snuffer. Went about 60 yards out into the lake. Had to attach a rope and tow him in this close. Fortunately, I had an amazing partner and we were able to disassemble him in the lake in about 3 hours.

Moose is on my short list to do hunts.

Since my chance of drawing here in CO is about as good as winning the Power Ball Lottery, been looking at BC.

Wish I had a Moose Pic to share!

This thread is killing me........

I'm going to have to break down and actually book a hunt.  You don't want to know how many years (and how many locations) I've been playing the moose lotto.  I started applying about five years ago in New Brunswick when I discovered that they have the best odds (if you want to call it that) compared to the moose states.  I'll keep applying (as they say; Hey, Ya never know!)everywhere they offer one.  Maybe this year will be my year!
