Well I know that this is a compound show, but the new I have is traditional.  Chris Brackett is leaving the show and is being replaced by Brooks Johnson, who is the owner of Double Bull Blinds.  I liked Chris, but I am glad to see one more trad guy on the tele!

Bummer for Chris, But WTG Brook. Seen Him on a fred Eichler DVD and he uses a Horse bow. I just think the show will be way better with a trad shooter.

Ragnarok Forge

That's interesting since Bracket is the show.  I will be interested to see how this works out and if the show is worth watching.

It will just be refreshing to not have to hear about RAGE BROADHEADS!!!!!!!! Of course I guess they could still be a sponsor

I'm just going to be glad He wont be comparing his bow skills to H. Hill's.

Give me a few hours and I can get anyone off the street to shoot great with a wheelie bow.

Now don't get me wrong, But Chris does crack me up when he talks and does his showmenship.

Oh I betcha a buck Rage will still be advertising.

Well dang, DISH TV still doesn't carry the stupid channel. sniff.

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta say this and it's not meant too  be disrespectful. Most shows on TV stink BAD!!!!!! Some of them have been on for years and I have no idea why.

Right now I'm down to liking A-Way Outdoors, Relentless Pursuits, Bowhunter Magazine TV and Eastons Bowhunting.

For those that haven't seen it, Tim Wells does a great Rage commercial using primitive self bow:

Just one more step please!

Some dude with a stick and string chasing things.

Wonder if they will keep the blood-splattered sheets during the narative parts of the show?

Relentless pursuits is definitely one of my favorites... That is one talented guy even if it is with a wheelie bow most of the time

I don't care too much for the show.  Too much hard punk music on the show.  Hunting and shooting to me is more meditational and serene than heart pumping in your face adrenaline rush that this show and music suggests... Just my opinion.

I get Out Door channel at camp with dish. With a half hour show you might see ten minutes of actual hunting, the other twenty min. is advertising. To me it's a wast of time.

They pay A LOT for the slots that their show run in.  I can see why they would have to run a lot of ads to make it work.  No ones like the number of commercials but if that is what it takes to keep the shows running I'll put up with them.

newell38

hahaa i havent seen the tim wells commercial!  thats awesome!  i love that show and i could care less if he shoots a compound....relentless pursuit is a great show!   he has had some traditional shooters on there in the past...very entertaining show!....as for arrow affliction, its kinda like driving past a gruesome car wreck on the highway, you dont want to look but you cant help it.  he is a good shot though....hes a little different but arent we all.

That is one of the shows I avoid like the plague. To me it represents everything that traditional bowhunting is not.

There are those who could do better in showing what the sport is really like.  You can take any one of those bowhunting sequences, and use it over and over in other shows, and you would see the same thing.  Sitting in a stand, whispering to the cameraman, watching a deer walk by, shooting it, high-fiving and saying, "what a hunt."  We didn't see any hunt...we saw the same thing we see in every show....a kill.

There are a couple shows that have an educational and entertainment quality, but until most get away from the stupid loud, overdrive guitar music....the fist pumping and terms like, "I smoked 'em"....they will not hold any interest for me.  I think they are so copycat of every other show, they have no clue as to what is really entertaining.  It's an area that needs some quality control for sure.

Arrow Affliction was pretty sophomoric, but at least had some entertainment factor to it.

I especially didn't care for Bracketts "in your face music" but I really liked the variety of game that he pursued.  When have you ever seen an archery show feature bull frog hunting.  I thought it was hilarious that there are actually limits on frogs.  I got past his over the top style and enjoyed his impressive compound shooting.  A lot of people will knock him because he shot a compound.  Isn't that a disadvantage when shooting at flying or moving targets.  Much more natural for me to use a trad bow in those situations.  It would be like sticking sights on a shotgun, and saying "that guy has a big advantage."  I don't think so.

Relentless Pursuit is my favorite but I am surprised he isn't taking a little flak here.  I don't see anyone knocking Tim for taking long shots or shots on fleeing game.  Hard to complain when he hits his mark.  Tim can shoot and seems to be genuine on camera.

Chris Shelton

Wow more responses than I thought, I didnt realize that alot of you guys like brackett too.  Weather he realizes or not I think he shoots instinctively at aerial targets???  He probably uses the sights as a reference, but it would be like shooting a clay pidgen in the air using a 22lr with a scope?  Dad says he shoots without using the pins all the time, and he is good with his wheelie.

Tim doesnt use sights, he is a instictive shooter.  That is why he is so good/unique.  for those of you that have never shot a compound instinctively, if you were to use the tip of the arrow as your sight(not saying he does or that I did)you can almost use that for 15 yards out to 50 yards.  And I was using a old, OLD compound, it was sitting in a box, and I was curious.  And that thing is slow.  I would be willing to bet that with the newer ones you can probably just pick a spot out to 80 yards and let them fly?

I cant wait to see how Brooks does.  And I think some of you guys are right, they might still advertise rage?  Although I dont know how they will do that when I highly dought Brooks shoots them?

the tim wells rage comercial is great, even though it is advertising a stinkin mech!
