Well you could but then you would need to create a thread on why NOT to drill a 5/16" hole in a longbow

Yeh go ahead and drill away, these guys don't know what they are talking about.  :)

Well someone had to be a little different and tell you something else, healthy debate and all that stuff. Though I wouldn't drill my LB.

With all the good quivers out there, I don't see any reason to drill a longbow. Eagle's Flight, Thunderhorn, Kanati, and so on all make excellent strap on quivers. Save yourself some grief and buy one of them.

No. Used a, er, used a Grt Northern.

Longbows do not look good with taps in the riser IMO. Recurves on the other hand often carry them with grace.

I did drill holes in one of mine  and i can say it held the quiver fine but the bow shot like s**t. I will never do that again on any long bow

I had quiver mounts on a 3 piece Bob Lee longbow with the big recurve type riser, was always shot with the quiver on and is a great solid mount.  Would never put a hole on my lite weight longbows, either the Morrison or the Ragim.

My thoughts exactly. Although all three of those quivers and the Great Northerns are very nice, the best bow quiver I have found so far is the Eagle Flight Archery Navaho Chief with the Totem. It is just about perfect, and don't ask me how to improve it because I haven't figured that out.

I have a couple of bows that have inserts. I wish the guys who ordered them that way would not have, but that's what was there when I bought the bows. I never use the inserts and they detract from the beauty of the bows and decrease the resale value.

I don't understand why anyone would put holes in their pretty bows when there are excellent strap on bow quivers on the market, but if someone wants to mess up his own bow, I say "go for it". It's a free country, thank God.

Personally, I wouldn't drill holes in any of my bows. I use a Thunderhorn Mini-Boa Quiver or a hip quiver. I'm going to get a bowfishing rig, but will use a strap on adapter to secure to bow.
