Why would you want to? They are real tough as is. Just curious.

If 2219 work why do you need another size? Just curious.
Here's a link.

Make sure you bevel the outside of the rear end of the footing and it shouldn't tear up the targets as badly.

I foot my stumping ones with 2216's.Have heard of some who use 2117's but they have to sand the shaft a little to get them on.Seems like that would weaken it,even if only a little, think I'll stick with 2216's.

I use a 2216 on my 150, works like a charm! Mine are cut to 1" pieces, next time I'll try a 1.5" piece to get it a bit further past the insert!

I used 2216's on my last dozen of 150's. A bit of play, but the glue took care of that. Im sure a small section of an arrow wrap or similar would end the play entirely....might make it too tight though too.

Where do you all get the shafts to cut down?? I've been thinking of footing my CX250's but don't want to buy a dozen shafts just to cut down a few for footing.

I use a wood internal footing. I bought some wood dowels and glue about 5 inches of the dowel behind the insert. Cheap, easy and works awesome. Makes them just about indestrucatble. I haven't been able to break one. You can't drive the insert back because the dowel stops it.

I'd just put and ad in the classifieds to buy or trade for whatever size you need. Some one probably has some bent shafts laying around. You can just use the straight sections for your footings.

Walmart will have some for around 2 or 3 bucks, you can buy one or two and have plenty of footing material.
