Plastic gallon milk jugs. Put a handful of stones inside, screw the top back on and have at it. They even have a built-in throwing handle.

Our local Bow hunting club has about 25 members of which 24 used traditional equipment. We have a pheasant hunt every year. On the first hunt one person was shooting video and after watching it we learned something.

As we watched several pheasants on the screen get up and fly straight away you would see several arrows come into view also. The arrows were looking good right on target but as the pheasant gained speed you would see the distance lengthen between bird and arrow. Hard to believe but they were actually out flying the arrows. Not all got away though even using flu flu arrows. The next shoot we went to standard fletching and the hits happened more frequently.
We lost a lot more arrows though.

check out the wingshooter in the sponsors listing. I bought the plans and will finally get around to building the thing this month.
