B50 strings-how many strands
« on: February 07, 2010, 01:17:00 AM »
Hey guys, I need a little help with B50 strings. How many strands of B50 should I use for a 50 lb. bow? 60 lb. bow? And a 65 lb bow.

I had a chart with this info but misplaced it somewhere. Thanks, Jim

I've had Bearbowman make me a number of 14 strand B50 strings (45-55lbs bows). They are performing very well and are beautifully made.

A 14 strand B50 is more then enough for a 50# bow.I'll use a 12 strand for 50# and under and have used 14 strands up to 60#.

I like to use three bundles when doing flemish strings.
So to keep her even, and smooth, I make all of my strings with 15 strands, 5 in each bundle.
