long triangular box(now with video)
« on: February 07, 2010, 02:18:00 AM »
got my new to me caribow tuktu one piece recurve last week.60" 56@28 woods look like cocobolo and some type of ebony handle.limbs are zebra and boo.maybe ralph can yell at me if i'm wrong about anything.gotta tell you one thing.this bow totally surprised the hell outta me,i was not expecting to ever find a bow as smooth as the blackbrook evo i have but this tuktu is awesome.smooth as silk, plenty fast and after i tuned it to my liking i destroyed 4 of my arrows at 10yds (hallway range)got to admit this bow is going to be hard to beat.not quite as fast as my morrison but smoother.the price i payed for this bow made me wonder what i was getting but now i feel like either i stole it or ralph needs some therapy.   :D   i'll be checking out caribows t/d recurves for sure

this bow had skins on it but i removed them as they were coming off at the edges.had to sand the glue off but it turned out good but i still have to apply some true oil to the limbs and handle that i also sanded some to smooth it out to my liking.sadly my son has informed me that he will be taking possession of it (never should of let him shoot it)  :help:

i really am not into one piece bows either but i have been wanting to try a caribow out so i pounced on it,plus the grip looked perfect for me and it is.i think i'll be using this bow primarily on blacktail deer as i have been thinking about getting back into deer hunting again.i have pretty much been hunting elk only as opposed to both.kind of a buy a deer tag in case i run into one type of deal.i would shoot an elk with this bow in a heartbeat though.its only about 20 fps slower than my cheyenne so shes still plenty potent.i difinately would say buy one to anyone who's been considering a caribow.
