This is a Mecca for traditional archery. Now I know I may be biased but some of the greatest trad archers in the world live in the Mohawk and Hudson River valleys.Ken Thornhill,Keith Deters,Al Pennick , Gary Ragnear the list goes on and on.Also a very mysterious and incredibly talented archer known as Ray Melendez comes to hunt and stump around here even though he doesnt live here. For $20.00 you too can join their pestigious ranks in the Mohawk Hudson Traditional Archers.Check the link in Trad Events and welcome to the area.

Izzy,
Sounds interesting. Could you point me to the link? I'm having trouble finding reference to Mohawk Hudson Traditional Archers.

Check the trad events thread. Keith lists the gatherings there, and I believe he has included a link to their homepage.

I live in Tribes Hill N.Y., about 4 miles west of Amsterdam, 4 miles east of Fonda, right on the Mohawk River. Check out what Izzy said about the Mohawk - Hudson Trad Archer's, good bunch to shoot with and have some fun .......Izzy That Kim-Sha longbow ain't ready to leave the fold just yet, even if you shoot it well!!!!!

Timothy,
Well Ron is practically in your back yard. I live in Scotia, Your more than welcome to come out anytime. There are a few Trad archers along the I90 Corridor.
Tolgate archery shoot is coming this weekend you can find a lot of people there which is real close to you.
MHTA is a great cheap club. very informal and a lot of top notch people.
The Herkimer region is awesome. I used to drive that way every other day.
I also think you should check out the JLMBH, also MHTA has a shoot coming Feb 21. You couldn't have picked a better area to shoot trad in.
Hope to see you at a shoot, good luck,
Charlie
