4 feather fletching,need help

I am making a new set of arrows using 2018 Eastons.I have already crested the shafts with white paint and am now ready to start fletching. I am in the mood to try something different but I'm wondering about doing it the correct way. I'd like to try a 4 feather fletch. I have parabolic cut feathers in both 4" and 5". What would be the better length and what feather would be the cock feather? I have always shot 3 feather fletched arrows, but I have no idea about 4 feather fletching. Please, some advice.

I'd use the 4" and fletch with a 75x105 orientation. Use all one color feathers and you have no need to worry about a cock feather. the beauty of 4 fletch is you can nock your arrow either way and don't need to look at it while doing it.

The 4" would probably be the better choice unless you want heavy duty stabilization.

There is no cock feather w/ 4 fletch.

I use the 4" @ 90 % and don't use a cock feather cause it makes no difference when you put them on the string.

Looks like 4" feathers are what I'll try. Maybe I'll bring them to Whittingham to show off.

You'll be amazed at how well them little 4" feather stabilize.

Think of it this way:  three 5" feathers=15"
                       four 4" feathers=16"
I tried the four 5" feathers and I might have well been shooting flu-flu's past fifteen yards.  Talk about putting the brakes on.

I believe that it is a matter of, "How much stabilization do you need?" Are you doing a helical or an offset or a straight fletching? How heavy are the arrows. Heavy arrows with big broadheads will need more stabilization than a light,skinney arrow with a field point. Also, more stabilization equals more drag. Is arrow speed going to be an issue? I personally use as little stabilizAtion as I can get away with and hold down the drag, but others may feel differently.

When using the 4 x 90 pattern do you get better flight nocking so your fletch looks like an X from behind or a + ?

On a 75x105 put the wider angle toward the arrow plate.

I've definitely had better and quieter flight from 90 dgree 4 fletch than from 75 x 105 4 fletch
