I took the plunge...PCH on order
« on: February 10, 2010, 06:17:00 PM »
So I just have to say it sucks not being able to ever SEE what you are about to purchase before you do...price of living so far away I guess. Just once I would like to buy something after I try it for a bit.

So:

Got a phone call from Roger Fulton and I broke down ..ok ok I will buy the darn thing. I know your kids are eating wiener soup 6 days a week and you need a sale;)     ;)    .
Just take my credit card number...lets go through the list fast so I can catch my breath.

And then make me wait for 7-10 weeks...it's ok I can take it     :bigsmyl:

LOL,7-10wks is not nothin'. I waited over a year for my Blacktail. Been waiting over 14 months for my new Brackenbury. Gotta wait 3 to 4 months for my new Robertson. Do not know how long the wait is for my new Talltines. So ya see 10 weeks is a walk in the park.

Yeah it's not long - I waited 9.5 months for my shrew

DAVE: - no demos across the borders - the trouble is Duties and taxes and then trying to get it back....that's where the bottle neck is.

They should send it as a gift and then i send it back saying I don't want a gift...hmmm that might even work.

Bottom line is that it adds a lot of money to the purchase of the bow...crap

I ordered one the 30th of Jan. from Roger at the Kalamazoo Expo.I am not sure how many they sold that weekend but I know the booth always had several people hanging around and shooting bows on Friday night and during the day Saturday. It took me till Saturday afternoon to weed out the bows they had there and see that they didnt have exactly what I wanted in the PCH on the trip so I had to order one.I just ordered a plain 58 in. PCH III with an Asbell grip.I would have taken an exotic one had they had one with the exact specs I wanted but they didnt have one.I liked the crossgrain graybark as well as anything I saw.The worst part is the waiting but some people have to wait a lot longer for other makes of bows.

I think you're gonna like this bow. I was at Kalamazoo for the Trad Expo and got to see a bunch of the PCH bows...handle them too (maybe "molest" is a more accurate word). They feel outstanding in the hand, and the down-sized riser is perfect for those who never quite liked the full-sized MA with the prominent "horns". An excellent hunting bow for certain.

BTW: Honduran was my personal first choice of all the limb woods I saw.

George you sure see crystal clear my friend.

The wait will be easier for me cause I can't shoot at all yet...don't have a bow at all, but I can start making tuneable arrows to try.

All is not lost

Jerry, I'm sure you will love that BW.  Those critters are bombproof for sure, and should fit right in that Yukon Territory.  8^).

I think so too...thanks george

I think it will be the only Black Widow here. I have the only acs too, but that's because there are not many trad guys here...heck there are hardly any ppl here.

Stats - animals to ppl this should get a chuckle

More caribou than ppl - more moose than ppl - more bears than ppl - I think we out number the deer, but I will have to check on that one.

Wolves not sure

Gophers out number us 15 to one easy..and don't even make me go there with mosquito's and black flies.

Now fish...hmmm - lets leave it at that.

We don't have to worry about being invaded because we could hit the bush and nobody would find us and it would only take a few buses to haul us there..tee hee

Congrats.  I had to buy an SA to try them out too.  Just a hint on tuning, it takes a much stiffer shaft than any of my other similar weight bows.  56" 58#@27" I needed a 340 Traditional only shaft cut 28.5" with 100 grains brass insert and 165 grain head.  The PCH is great, I shot one at Kalamazoo.
