How many bows are too many ....
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:28:00 PM »
When I first started hunting with a bow I decided it would be a good idea to have a back-up. Well thirty-six years later, I now have five bows that I shoot regularly and one old Bear wall hanger. I probably would be a better shot if I used only one bow, but I can't help it. I love different wood combinations, both longbows as well as recurves and think highly of many makers. I'm really writing I guess because I'm considering buying yet another. Is there something wrong with me? Are there any other TG members out there like me or do I need help? Thank God my wife loves me.

No help needed!!!!
I've accumulated 24 recurve and long bows that I shoot -- some more than others.  Also have about 9 old wooden wall hangers.  Course I've been at it longer too.

Personal choice - I wanted a great longbow and recurve adn I wanted them to be shorter for manuverability...they are on order.

that's good for me...I can get extra limbs for both...flexibility.

Everyone is going to say something different and that's good.

then I want the rest of my money to free up my time so I can USE THEM!!!!!!!

The question is as I understand it is:  "How many bows are too many?"

I have to admit that I don't have a clue since I've never hit that number. Maybe I could if I had the money to buy all the bows I'd like to try but that ain't likely to happen in this lifetime.

It's not much of an answer but it's all I got.

God bless,Mudd

I have 26 and a bow blank from Apex Predator ordered, I consider this one of my hobbies. I like to shoot them. I like to hunt with them. I like to let others try them. If I see something in the future that I like ,I'll get that also. I like to trade, but my stock has gotten to the point where I'm not sure if I want to get get rid of any of my favorites. Gotta go.... the classifieds await!!!

As long as you don't plan on hauling them off into the woods all at once there is no such thing.

There’s another question that doesn’t get asked around here…they are simply part of my wellness program.

I know the pic makes me look like a beginner next to some (my heroes) but this is the second time I’ve had to start from scratch…May you only have to do it once. Rick.

I have five recurves and five longbows. I could see having a few more. I would like to learn to part with a few, but I haven't yet!
