wood'n arrow maker/ dowle maker?

I am wanting to start making my own hard wood arrow shafts, and was wondering if anybody knew of a tool/machine that I could by to run wood through. I google'd it without much luck. Looking for somthing that can produce fast, like what an arrow company would use mabey? any ideas guys?

there used to be a thing that would turn 3/8 square peices of wood into dowels, but it was done by hand I think?

realy? If I could find somthing that I could turn by hand would be ok, but I would realy like somthing to sip through a set of arrows.

I've been using one called a Shaft Shooter (3Rivers sold it) but I don't think anyone is making/selling it anymore.  

I've done mostly Douglas Fir but a few hardwoods like hickory, purple heart, and bubinga.

Doug Fir is by far the easiest wood to work with of those mentioned.

That dowel maker that Ursus showed up there...the cheap one from Lee Valley is what I use and it works absolutley fine.  I only have a half dozen done but my buddy has done hundreds of arrows through his

Steve B's post on dowel maker is the one a buddy of mine has.  We made 75 shafts in about an hour a couple of weeks ago.  does a good job.  Can't push them thru too fast as there will be grind rings left on the shaft.

a friend of mine made a shaft maker by using a series of aluminum blocks, a router, and a drill.  He put out great shafts.  I made the jig but have never used it.  I shoot Goldtips now.  Dick

I turned about 3 dozens using hardwood scraps from a local lumber yard.  Have a lot of sawdust.  Need a lot of sending too.

I think the veratas would be a great tool for the arrow shop i tried alot of jigs based off of the shaft shooter all had the same flaws very dependent on how true you can get the stock and the size of it they werent very forgiving but the dowel maker looks to have fixxed that

 4 min mark is when the veritas jig is used.
