New limbs for an old bow?
«

I have a Groves Spitfire Mag II with two sets of limbs, both of with are a bit heavy for me. Does anyone make special order limbs for older bows? It would be nice to get lighter limbs that will handle FF strings.
Thanks.

You can have someone reduce the weight a few pounds.. The secret of the Groves is in the limbs,, Doubtful you would find anyone to make a comparable limb.

It doesn't have to be "DynaStressed", or whatever Harold called the process. I would just like different limbs.
I could have the 58# limbs taken down a bit. One thing about these limbs is that the glass is cracked a the limb bolt hole. Also they don't have the extra pad of wood and glass at the limb bolt hole like my 70# limbs have. Suppose the pad could be added along with the weight reduction.
Thanks for the response.

i'm sure if you checked with some of the bowyers listed on here in the sponsor section they may be able to help you.

Getting someone to custom make limbs for you is unlikely. Send them off to Joe Lasch at the Bow Hospital. He can knock some weight off for you.
