The last two shots I took were on 28-Dec-09.  Missed the same cottontail twice.  First shot deflected off a bush and the second was a plain crummy shot. Rabbit was sitting there broadside about 15 yards away and I simply made a crappy shot.

Missed a doe sometime around Halloween, so no pics.  That was the only shot I had all season at a deer.

After I missed, I should have walked over and clubbed her with my bow while she was rolling on the ground laughing at my poor shot execution. Yep, it was that bad of a miss.

I hate to even think about it. 12Yds great razor edged horn 10 pointer, perfect setup and I hit him high. When he wheeled around exposing the exit hole I thought it was low enough to get the lung on the off side. He laid down within 60 yds I waited two hours and jumped him.  Bleeding heavily on both sides waited another 2 hrs. lost the trail after 200 yds. Picked up trail next day another 100 yds. of progress than nothing.  Looked all day and the next.  Nothing.  We think he survived but maybe just hopeful thinking.  I think about it every night.  Thanks Joe I'll think about it all night tonight.

Last shot was Oct. 1, opening day.  Watched a doe and a small spike for nearly an hour less than 25 yards away.  The shots never felt right.  The doe finally worked her way up to 13 yards standing broad side and promptly turned her head straight away.  I had picked the spot for over 30 minutes.  I drew and the arrow buried in the ground behind her, after punching both lungs.  She jumped, trotted about 20 yards, stopped, looked around and fell over.  What a rush!!!!!

Mine was on Jan. 30. Shot at a doe about 18 yards away out of a ground blind. I hit the bottom of the window on the blind and my arrow sailed about two foot over her back.

I was hunting with a buddy near the house, here.  I was hoping the does would go over by him, as he hadn't shot a deer all year.  The biggest doe had seen him move, but she didn't see me.  He was 25yds away.  The doe was 9yds in front of me, stomping.  We were running out of light, and she was getting antsy.  I decided to take her, and my shot looked great.  I thought I heard her crash, but I couldn't find much blood at the POI.  It was gonna be in the 20's, so I left her overnight (my buddy had to drive 1.5hrs to get home...and I needed to get him on the road and back to his bride....lol).

Anyway....I walked up on her in about 5 minutes, at first light.

Last weekend of deer season. Had a hog come in at last light. Hit him high and trailed for better than 500 yards with little blood. Lost the trail in an open pasture. Felt pretty bad about it for weeks. Saw the same hog again just yesterday. He's got a bald spot on both sides above the shoulder but is rootin just fine. I'll get him again....

My first and only trad hunting shot.  Nov 2, 2009, Just 100yds from my house.  Hit her high, but great blood trail.  Sure would be nice to keep my current success rate. LOL
