Why are the "good" shows always up north?
« on: February 16, 2010, 06:36:00 AM »
This is NOT a south bash north topic but why can't someone come up with a traditional show down here in the south? I would love to attend a trad show like the one in Kazoo but it is just too far to drive;

So will someone PLEASE get all the bowyers and traditional guru's and put on a "kazoo" show down south? please.....  :campfire:

Don't have too move it, just do one like it closer too home.  We just can't justify the gamble on the weather and roads in January.

Of course we've had our share of white and slippery around here too.

Speaking of...how 'bout a trad show out west? Preferably in Denver. I would give almost anything to be able to shoot a bunch of the cool bows I keep hearing about and seeing pics of on this site. Anybody know about any shows out here?

Denver is too far west, make it directly in the middle of the country, kansas?  Tennesse is great for me, but not so great for everyone else, lol.  I think the companies would do better if it was in August too!  I always wondered why kzoo was in kzoo, lol. That is kinda in a weird place.  But I am not the chooser of chosen expos.  I think the best way for the companys to make money and for people to be happy is for the kzoo show to be a tour.  Have a stop in PA, SC, TX, WA, CO, and back to kzoo???

You have to remember Great Northern put the Trad Expo together.  They started close to their shop in a town called Hastings and outgrew that quickly.  Kalamzoo is about the biggest town in their ara and the fairgrounds is big enough to handle it, barely.

Outside of Kalamazoo, I think population density has a lot to do with the other shoots being around here, i.e  Comptons, GLLI.  Michigan is one of the top states in the country in license sales, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and even Iowa or Wisconsin are all in a relatively short drive, Pennsylvania a little further.  People can also fly into Chicago or Detroit.

I have always said we are pretting spoiled here in Michigan.  We get Kalamazoo, Comptons and GLLI right in our state and the Michigan Traditional Rendezvous is typically the week after Comptons in Grayling at Fred Bears old club.  Not bad!

I hate to argue Barry but they are ALL DOWN SOUTH     :bigsmyl:

Depends where you live.

I think we should lobby for a TRADE A HUNT - between our countries - permits could be ever two years or something.

I can't take someone here that isn't a canadian citizen and that sucks...ONLY OUTFITTERS can...well what is so special about them..THEY TRADE HUNTS.
