Ron, Where would you place that arrow?
Great pics Mickey. Do you think they will still be around when your season comes in. Our season started last weekend. For months I've seen good sign throughout our woods until about 3 weeks ago. Now nothing!   Pat

Pat, Dianne and I were out sweeping last falls oak leafs off the front deck this morning and every once in awhile we can hear them gobble not too far away (within a couple hundred yards maybe). I owl hooted and that set them off in unison ha ha.

Today season opens up for the youth, but we haven't heard any shots. Monday I get to chase them for a couple hours before heading out on the road. Course if I get a chance, they won't be hearing me shoot either .  :bigsmyl:

He's not quartering too much, it looks like he's got his fan turned a little. If I took that shot I think I'd try to put it just above the wing feathers a couple inches to the right of the V in the fan. A Snuffer or a big Simmons Tree Shark should do the job in that spot.       :knothead:

I'm outa here, headed for turkey camp.      :campfire:          :archer:

Thanks Ron, and good luck in turkey camp.
Mickey, I hope you get one too before you have to hit the road.  I have only hunted turkeys ones years ago in the north GA mountains. That bird taught me who the turkey really was. LOL    Pat

Nice picture as usual! Looks like them birds might hang around for you all this year.

Speaking of Ohio's youth season, I went out this morning to see where the pressure was and if any shot's rang out. Lots of gobble'n and several youth hunters but no shots heard.

This was supposed to be my year with a bow, but I am not able to shoot my bow yet. Looks like it will be the video camera in my hand and I'll just call for the wife.

Bummer Joe, but after seeing your den, I know the Mrs knows what to do when a big gobbler steps out.

Sitting on the deck tonight, could still hear them gobbling. Don't want to get my hopes up.34 hours until it's time to hunt.

It's mighty hard to figure out where to shoot, to me.
I called one in to about 25 yards, Friday...had him gobbling from 200 yards to all the way in.
I was using my grandfathers paddle call from the turn of the century(the 1900 one).
It was an unforgettable thrill. He had two hens with him, trailing behind and to the side and I was in my ghillie suit but never drew back on him due to obstacles and the hen. Or was it turkey panic   :bigsmyl:
I wish I had carried a cam-corder.
Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Happy trails....   ('till we meet again, Dale Evans Rogers)
