Hare today, stew tomorrow
« on: February 20, 2010, 10:10:00 PM »
Have decent numbers of snowshoe hares in spots this year; went out for a bit this afternoon and found these guys.  Tough to thread an arrow thru the brush; it took me 3 shots apiece, all with the same arrow.  Winter Fun  :)

Here's bunny number two before, in some thin snow under some trees.

And after...

Nice shots! The JLMBH taught me that a bunny's vitals are further forward than a deers. That top snowshoe looks about perfect to me! Good hunt!

Thanks Miss Deer !  You've got good eyeballs, I did hit the top one well.  The other one though, he took some finishing.

Nice shooting. Those snowshoes can be tough to sneak up on. I like your play on words too.

Nice shooting! I think bunny hunting is my favorite kind of hunting now.

I'd also like to know if anyone is making silencers out of rabbit hide.

I hate wasting the hides like that. I've been trying to find someone to tan a few for me before I get my next batch.
