68 inch longbow

Guys I'm 5 foot 5 with a 25 inch draw. I'm thinking of buying a friends D Longbow that measures out to 68" and 65# @28. Would this be too long for me.

I think longer bows are more forgiving but will the weight be what your needing at that draw length? Probably not your first choice if your hunting in a ground blind? JMO

To tell you the truth, it will probably only shot at the range, will not be my hunter.

At your draw of 25" it should be smooth and there's no reason you can't shoot it. It should be fun and you might just want to hunt with it!!!!!

i draw 26" (when I get it all the way back) and I shoot 68" Hill bows. 66" is almost ideal for me, but the 68" works fine, and it will be a little smoother for you.

At 25", you'll probably be drawing 55# or so. A 50-55# woodie with 160 grains up front and cut to 28" should fly well for you.

If its comfy shoot it. I like 66"and 68" bows but I draw 30". No doubt it would be smooth and quiet.

I just got myself a 64" Kohannah flatbow. My draw is 26" on a good day. Have fun with her! That's what this game is all about. Bows don't need to be fed or tucked in at night. If something won't shoot for me, I'll sell it and move on to another.

I'm gonna go against the crowd and say the bow is too long for you. I think you would see much better performance and enjoy shooting a shorter bow where you can load the limbs more. You can certainly try it, you may enjoy the way it shoots. Good Luck, Greg

Ya know Greg that's what I'm worried about, with the length of the bow am I going to load her up enough to take advantage of the length of the bow ?

should shoot very nicely at any draw length.50-55 is plenty of weight.bet you shoot it better than any bow you've ever had.very forgiving and accurate.jmho

The ole rule of thumb, for a laminated, glass, Trad. Longbow is to add or subtract 2" in bow length, for each 1" increase or decrease in draw length. That does not mean a particular bow will not hold up to a longer draw, or shoot with a shorter draw, it is a guide. It is more important with certain designs, like the English Yew Longbow (selfbow). Best thing is to get the arrow that matches your setup and give it a try.
