Poor man's sheep?
«

Made the jump to all trad., this past year. Lovin' it.
One of my goals is gonna be to hunt something I haven't hunted before, each year (each year I can afford to do so....both time-wise and $$).
I'm headed to CO this fall after elk. I have a free place to stay (friend). I'll pay camp food (my share); licenses (plan on purchasing a muley tag and an either-sex elk) and I'll fly on frequent flyer miles (my wife's!).
I'd like to do an aoudad hunt...IF I can find a fair-chase situation that won't break the bank.
Anyone done a DIY aoudad hunt? Semi-guided?
Thanks.

GMMAT, Saw the post and just had to check this out.
What? No pictures. Reminds me of the story about Old Charley, Clive, and young Joe.
Sorry, thought it was another sheep post.
Still can see old Charley and Clive sittin top of that hill, just rollin over laughin.
Didn't have to pick the ugliest one of the bunch.

I've heard a similar joke, Bowfred.
I could've chosen better words....for sure!...lol
I didn't say in the OP...but this would be a 2011 trip!

I have never done it but there are free ranging aoudads in the Texas Panhandle that you could look into. You might also look at St Vincent Island in Florida, there is a free ranging Sambar herd that offers some hunting opportunities

How about Hawaii?
This might not be what you had in mind but might give you another choice. Good luck to you!
